DentalProTemps (DPT) was built from the ground up in 2011 by Mary A. Smith, a 30 year veteran Dental Hygienist. With a passion for dentistry and the love of serving others, Mary felt like she could build a dental staffing agency based on a very unique business model that would benefit dental practices and dental professionals by minimizing risk and liability for dental practices while providing the much needed protection for the dental professionals that work through DPT.
As DPT looks to the future, they are focused on slowly expanding their service area and enhancing the innovation and technology they use to keep dental practices and dental professionals connected.
Mary grew up in eastern NC and enjoys visiting the area when she has time. Deciding at the tender age of 13 that dental hygiene was her calling, she attended and graduated from Wayne Community College’s Dental Hygiene program. Anna Edmundson RDH, the program’s director at the time, deeply influenced and helped mold Mary’s values in dental hygiene, for which she is grateful.
Mary’s two biggest accomplishments in life are Amy Elizabeth, her daughter and Dustin Andrew, her son and best friend. She has one grandson, Jacob Drew, who she adores and loves to spend time with and is awaiting the arrival of twin girls. When she’s not working, Mary and her partner, Michael, enjoy riding motorcycles, fishing, walks and watching movies.
Director of clinical Operations
Jacqueline grew up in central NC, where she still resides with her husband, Philip and two adorable children, Joey and Ava. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, participating in various activities in the area. When she has some quiet time, which is rare these days, she enjoys reading a good book.
Jacqueline, who has known Mary for years, first as her patient and later as her colleague, joined DentalProTemps approximately 9 months after Mary opened for business. Believing in the business model of DPT, she has continued working with Mary growing the company, and has become an integral part of DPT. Mary uses words such as “irreplaceable” and “indispensable” when she describes Jacqueline.
